How does Pre-Order Shipping work?

Modified on Mon, 13 Jan at 9:52 AM

When you purchase a pre-order through Merlin Models, you will not be charged the cost of shipping up-front (unless specified in the item description). We do this because production timeframes can take a year on average, and shipping prices rise and fall frequently. When your pre-order is ready to ship, you will be emailed an invoice to pay for shipping (by default this will be sent to the email that you provided when making your purchase). Your shipping invoice must be paid in order for you to receive your purchase. The shipping invoice will include a timeframe for the payment to be made. If you do not pay within the specified timeframe, then your order will be redirected to our Studio in Texas through Ocean Freight. This process can add 1-2 months on average to your delivery timeframe. If your purchase is redirected due to non-payment of your shipping invoice, then you will be financially responsible for paying for both the cost of the Ocean Freight from our manufacturer to our Studio, and then additionally you will need to pay for the cost of shipping from our Studio to your address. Once your purchase reaches our Studio, we will hold it for up to 90 days. If you have not made arrangements pay to have your purchase shipped to you within these 90 days, then we will return the item to our general inventory and it becomes the property of Merlin Models.
